If you're like me, you're constantly working on a bunch of very varied projects. What helps me keep it all on track is using lists. I'm really tremendously awesome at getting things organized, then dumping the app when I get sick of its interface/functionality. I've tried MS Office, Exchange, Jott, and Remember the Milk. And some stuff called 'paper.'
Jott is awesome if you want to send yourself (or others) voice messages that get converted to text. Really innovative service. I'm just not a phone dude. Plus, I already spend enough time talking to myself.
Remember the Milk is actually a really great, really dynamic platform. I'll probably keep using it for some projects. I'd def recommend it if you want to create multiple lists where you can store details and assign tasks to people. Or as a way to send yourself text or email reminders.

But when I read yesterday on the Gmail Blog that Gmail had a new Tasks feature in their Labs, I was stoked. I'm always in Gmail. So I can have my reminders right there. The issue I have with Remember the Milk is my own laziness. I have to actually go and visit yet another website, and leave one more tab open, in order to really utilize it. Therefore, I fail.
But having Tasks in Gmail is dope. Now I can have a reminder in Gmail to use Remember the Milk. Plus, you can also convert emails into tasks. That's big for me.
Wanna add Tasks to your Gmail? Go to Settings, and select the Labs tab. (Or, if you're already signed in, just go to Labs now)Select Enable for the Tasks feature, add whatever other goodies you want, (I'm currently digging the inline Calendar and Quick Links) and Save your changes.
My favorite feature about all of this is that from your main Gmail email list view, you can select emails and use the More Actions dropdown to add those emails to your Tasks. Then, there's a link back to that email included in your Task window. So happy I can clear my Inbox out, but have these follow up reminders.
BTW, the Task link will show up on your left side nav under your Contacts link. On click, it will open a Task window. I had to search for that link for a bit.
Happy Tasking!
