Google's Friend Connect vs. Facebook Connect

Holy hype. The ultimate siege has begun in the war of the social battleground.

In one corner, weighing in at near monopoly, we have Google's Friend Connect. In the other corner, scaring security and privacy experts everywhere, we have Facebook Connect.

Who will knock the other out of the cyberdome?

Anyway, that's the way some are making it seem. Some say Facebook Connect will quickly kill Google Friend Connect. I don't think that's true.

Realistically? Google Friend Connect is much easier for bloggers and everyday folk to integrate into their site. Took me just a couple mins to add the code to this blog. That's gonna give it great reach and visibility for personal brands.

Facebook Connect will have great impact on brand sites, because it has a more technical involvement, and creates the opportunity for brands to access affinity groups and targeted audiences for social spread.

Long story short? Use Google Friend Connect on your personal blog and recommend your clients use Facebook Connect.

The world will live on harmoniously.
